Provincial Aboriginal Hockey Committee seeking to fill two vacancies
The 2015 National Aboriginal Hockey Championships (NAHC) will be held in Halifax, N.S. from April 27 to May 2, 2015. The NAHC is the premier event for Aboriginal hockey in Canada, profiling elite Provincial and Territorial teams from across the country. The NAHC encompass both a male and female championship for teams consisting of Bantam/Midget aged hockey players.
The Aboriginal Sport, Recreation and Physical Activity Partners Council is recruiting Aboriginal hockey leaders from across BC to fulfill two (2) vacancies on its Provincial Aboriginal Hockey Committee. The provincial committee assists with the planning for Team BC’s 2015 NAHC season, including selecting coaching staff. The committee shall also provide guidance and support regarding general Aboriginal hockey development opportunities and initiatives.
This is a volunteer role. Committee meetings are conducted via teleconference approximately once a month. Committee members have extensive experience with minor hockey, at a competitive level, and have specific knowledge of Aboriginal hockey development.
