Notice of Nominations

Pursuant to sections 7.03 and 7.04 of the Ditidaht Election Regulations 2010

Notice is hereby givento the voters of the Ditidaht First Nation

that a nomination meeting will be held:

May 28th, 2011

at Ditidaht Community Hall

commencing at 4:00 pm.

Nominations will be taken for one (1) Chief Councillor and four (4) Councillors

for the 4-year term commencing July18th, 2011.

Nominations will remain open for a minimum of one hour.

TheVoters List has been publicly posted and may be inspected

atthe Ditidaht Administration Office.

Any voter wishing to vote by mail must notify the Electoral Officer by

June 10th, 30 days before Election day.

Notice of Nominations

Pursuant to sections 7.05 and 7.06 of the Ditidaht Election Regulations 2010

 

         Age to nominate:

 

7.05

Any voter present who is over the age of 18 years on the date of the nomination meeting may make or second a nomination, but may not nominate or second her/himself.

The number of nominations or seconder(s) made by an elector cannot exceed the number of positions (seats available) for the election (i.e. four seats, allowed 4 nominations or seconder(s))

Accepting the nomination:

7.06

To accept a nomination and be declared a candidate, a nominee shall deliver an acceptance in an approved form to the EO within 7 days after the nomination meeting. Including an non-refundable acceptance fee of $100.00 payable to the Ditidaht First Nation (cash, cheque, money order)(Appendix A)

Note: There is no nomination fee, but there is an acceptance fee the person nominated must pay to be declared a candidate in the election, this fee is a $100.00 acceptance fee (non refundable) payable to the Ditidaht First Nation. (in addition to filling out a form of acceptance)
