The Victoria Urban Gathering once again filled the Edelweiss Club on Friday with a combination of song, socializing, food and remembering loved ones who are no longer with us.
In light of multiple losses in Nuu-chah-nulth families this month, once the hall was filled Joe Tom led a ceremony for all present to partake in recognizing their loved ones who have passed. A Christmas turkey dinner followed, as did singing by young and old before a crowd of over 100.
The Teechuktl team next heads to Campbell River for an gathering of urban-dwelling Nuu-chah-nulth aht on Tuesday.
